Heading to state

Indian Creek High School has undergone a journey the past two years to rebuild its cheering program, which switched to a non-tumble squad to showcase the girls’ talents. The seven cheerleaders continue to work on tumbling behind the scenes. Since the start of the season, the squad has competed in eight competitions, placing in the top two in seven of the events and taken home three first-place titles. The team has been dedicated to the sport, displaying their love for cheering and each other with every performance, officials noted. The girls competed at regionals, qualifying for state. This will be the first time in five years the cheering program will head to Columbus to compete. Officials thanked the squad for its hard work and dedication and wished them luck at the event. Those on the squad include, from left, front, Brooklyn Evans, Lucianna Pietro and Trista Simeral; and back, Aziah Ade, Hailey Francis, Dakota Forster and Sophia Tongate.
