Fort to hold Spring Quilt Show
STEUBENVILLE — Officials at Historic Fort Steuben are welcoming entries for its annual Spring Quilt Show, scheduled to run from April 7-18 at the fort’s Visitor Center.
Whether quilts are newly-finished, a treasured heirloom or an old favorite, handcrafted quilts and coverlets of all sizes will be accepted to be placed on display.
All entrants must send in an application form prior to March 17 to be included in the show, organizers stated.
“This is one of the most-popular exhibits we have each year, attracting fiber artists from around the area,” explained Judy Bratten, assistant director of the fort.
“We know how much work goes into each of these quilts, and how delicate the fabrics can be, so we handle them with care,” Bratten added. “We ask each entrant to give a little history of the quilt — each one tells a story.”
Applications can be obtained at the Visitor Center, online at oldfortsteuben.com/quilt-show or by calling (740) 283-1787.
