STEUBENVILLE — The Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County will celebrate Valentine’s Day with a Blind Date with A Book event.
The holiday campaign offers visitors an opportunity to retrieve a bag containing a wrapped book. Once the bag has been checked out, readers can learn of the title, making it a “blind date” of sorts.
Library officials stated they are hoping people will “step out of their comfort zone and find a new love this Valentine’s Day.” All area branches will carry the event, allowing patrons to borrow the new title during the week of Feb. 9-15. One person will win a book for their home collection at each local library, officials announced.
“Only a library card is needed to bravely read something unknown,” organizers said.
