Soup labels to be collected

WEIRTON — The Brooke Bruins and Weir Red Riders will face each other on the basketball court at 8 p.m. Friday at Weir High School.

During the event, the Future Business Leaders of America chapters from both schools will come together to help area youths who are dealing with hunger problems. The chapters will be collecting Campbell’s soup cans and other nonperishable foods during the game. Members announced that admission to the game will be free of charge to every adult who brings in two cans of Campbell’s Chunky soup. Students will receive free admission for bringing in one can of soup for the cause. All nonperishable foods will be collected Friday evening.

Democratic women to meet

WELLSBURG — Members of the Brooke County Executive Committee and Brooke County Democratic Women will hold their monthly meeting at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 13 at the Wellsburg Library. Refreshments will be served. All Democrats are welcome to attend.
