Mardi Gras Gala set for March
FOLLANSBEE — Preparations are being finalized for the seventh-annual Mardi Gras Gala that will support the Hilltop Montessori School.
The event is being presented by Toni Moreland State Farm.
The gala will take place from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. March 1 at the St. Francis Center, located at 805 Lee Road in Follansbee.
The event will offer New Orleans jazz music, dancing, an open bar, trivia game and a door prize, a 50/50 drawing, auctions, food and fun, organizers announced.
Tickets for the 50/50 drawing are being sold for $5 each or five tickets for $20.
Early-bird pricing is being offered through Saturday, with individual tickets costing $65.
Couples tickets are being sold for $120 through Saturday.
Ticket prices will then increase, costing $75 for an individual ticket or $140 for a couple.
Sponsorships include Rex Parade level sponsorship, at the cost of $1,000. This includes eight tickets, a reserved table, full-page ad in program, beads and hats for all guests, six mentions on social media and name on event signage.
The Proteus Parade level sponsorship is available for $500 and includes four tickets and reserved seating, a half-page ad in program, beads and hats for guests, four mentions on social media and name on signage at event.
The Zulu Parade level scholarship is available for $250 and includes two tickets and reserved seating, name or business’s name in program, beads and hats for guests, four mentions of sponsorship on social media and name on signage at event.
The Orpheus Parade sponsorship is available for $150 and includes name or business’s name in the program, four mentions on social media and name on signage at event.

Gyros sale set for Feb. 4
STEUBENVILLE — The Philoptochos Society at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church will be holding a gyros and more sale from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 4 at the church, located at 300 S. Fourth St. in Steubenville.
Gyros will be sold for $9 each, according to officials, who noted spankakopitas will be sold as well at the cost of $3.50 each.
Baklava will be available for $3 each.

Organizers stated patrons are asked to allow a minimum of 20 minutes for all orders to be completed.
Free delivery will be available for orders of four or more gyros to businesses and parishoners only.
Charity golf scramble coming
STEUBENVILLE — The Dean Martin Association has announced it will hold its first charity golf scramble this summer.
Cindy Williford, vice president of the association, stated the event will take place June 13 at the Steubenville Country Club.
Registration will begin at 7 a.m. Tee time is set for 8:30 a.m.
All proceeds raised will go to the Ohio Valley Health Center.
