Library announces activities

STEUBENVILLE — The Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County has announced its upcoming activities and events scheduled at area branches throughout the area beginning Jan. 13.

Main Library (740) 282-9782

Children will have an opportunity to learn life skills by joining 4-H. A representative from the club will be at the library from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Jan. 13 to register those interested in becoming a member.

Teens: Design a trinket tray in this grab-and-go craft. This activity is for those ages 12 to 18. The bags can be picked up at the library beginning Jan. 13 and will be distributed while supplies last.

Children: Join us at 6 p.m. Jan. 13 to create snow-related STEM projects. This activity will be for those between the ages of 5 and 12. Register to attend.

Adults: Make paper quilling snowflakes at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 15. Register to attend.

Help reduce stress, burnout and fatigue through a technique called Access Bars. The gentle treatment uses a light touch to 32 points on the head. Attend this program at 11 a.m. Jan. 18 to experience a mini-session that will be facilitated by Carol Borkoski. Register to attend.

Children: Tot Time will be held for parents and their children between the ages of 2 and 4 at 11:30 a.m. Jan. 13. Participants will listen to stories and sing songs. Register to attend.

Children between the ages of 5 and 10 can attend Story Time at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 13. Register to attend.

Adults: Create a sparkling snowman by using sea glass at 3 p.m. Jan. 18. Register to attend.

Teens: Make an octopus out of socks in this week’s grab-and-go bag. Supplies are provided for this craft you can make from home. Bags will be distributed beginning Jan. 13, while supplies last.

Children: It’s National Sticker Day Jan. 13. Stop in at any time during the day to decorate a water bottle with stickers. The activity will continue as long as supplies last.

Dillonvale-Mount Pleasant Branch (740) 314-4310

Children will have the opportunity to learn life skills by joining 4-H. A representative from the club will be at the library from noon to 2 p.m. Jan. 13 to register anyone who is interested in becoming a member.

Learn how to start a bullet journal at 6 p.m. Jan. 16. All ages are welcome to attend this activity. Those who are 12-years-old and younger must be accompanied by an adult. Register to attend.

Adults: Make a winter snowman using a diamond painting technique at 5 p.m. Jan. 15. Register to attend.

Join those at the library at 10 a.m. Jan. 14 to read and discuss the book “Inheritance,” by Nora Roberts. Call to attend.
