The Weirton All Saints Greek Orthodox Ladies Philoptochos Society recently presented a check for $1,000 to the Weirton Christian Center. The donation will be used to provide blankets and throws to the children attending the center, society members said. As stated on the center’s website, “At the Weirton Christian Center, we are committed to serving God and community, with a focus on providing a strong foundation for children by meeting their spiritual, physical and emotional needs.” Those taking part in the donation presentation included, from left, Kim Weaver, executive director of the center; and Philoptochos society members Mary Kohelis and Janet DiLorenzo.
