Ukulele players and singers from the Hollywood Ukes performed during Wednesday’s monthly meeting of Public Employees Retirement Inc. District 9, Chapter 5 at Froehlich’s Classic Corner. With 24 members in its Jefferson County chapter and more than 33,000 members nationwide, PERI is dedicated to protecting and preserving Ohio Public Employees Retirement System pension and benefits, as well as advocating for changes that are in members’ best interest. The chapter meets on the second Wednesday of every month and facilitates education for members regarding OPERS-related developments. Present for the meeting Wednesday was Jim Range, PERI’s District 9 representative, who gave an update on pertinent legislative issues. Chapter 5 will meet again at 10:40 a.m. Sept. 11 at Froehlich’s. Members will hear a presentation from Lisa Dalga, out-reach specialist for Senior Medicare Patrol.
