Urban Mission Ministry’s Back-To-School Bash set for Thursday

-- Janice Kiaski

Urban Mission Ministries will be bringing back its annual Back-to-School Bash as an in-person event this year, which the Rev. Ashley Steele, executive director, was promoting at an informational booth at First Friday on Fourth in Steubenville. The bash will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday in the parking lot of the Seventh Street Plaza. Students in grades kindergarten through 12 (and parents) are invited to join the mission in its school supply giveaway. Children must be present to receive backpacks and supplies. Plans are to distribute more than 800 bookbags filled with school supplies for students. The mission continues to be in need of bookbags and black pens along with volunteers to staff tables that day. Anyone interested in donating or volunteers can contact Awtihana Smith at asmith@urbanmission.org or call (740) 282-8010.
