Math camp ‘adds’ up to good summer experience

-- Contributed

The first Sycamore math camp took place July 25-29 with more than children participating in the camp that ran from 9 a.m. to noon each day. The curriculum used was called “Crazy Eights,” and incorporated hands-on materials to facilitate learning. The Sycamore Youth Center will be hosting math classes starting Oct. 3 that will use the same hands-on curriculum, according to Bobbyjon Bauman, center director. Adults assisting with the leading classes for the camp were Dave Burton, Chrissy Safranski, Amanda Miller and Martha Kovach.
