ADK chapter installs officers

WEIRTON — The Alpha Tau Chapter (WV) of Alpha Delta Kappa, International Honorary Organization for Women Educators held its April meeting at Dee Jay’s in Weirton.
Diane Bowers, president, called the meeting to order, and Chaplain Kathy Griffith gave a reading from “Walking in Grace.” Secretary Velda Icard took roll call and distributed copies of the March minutes for approval. Fran Jones gave the financial report. Committee reports were given.
Applications for the groups’ scholarship were presented by Pam Robinson, chairman. They were reviewed, and the recipient will be invited to the May meeting to receive the award.
Jones proposed an altruistic project which will benefit children of Ukraine. The group voted to make a donation to the project.
Officers for the 2022-24 biennium were installed by Ginger Greene, international vice president for the Southeast Region. The officers are: President, Amy Hannahs; president-elect, Fran Jones; immediate past president, Diane Bowers; secretary, Velda Icard; treasurer, Angela Cunningham; chaplain, Kathy Griffith; and historian, Michelle Bernardi.
The meeting was adjourned by the newly installed president.
Hostesses for the meeting were Kathy Griffith and Fran Jones. The May meeting will include a covered-dish salad buffet.
