Garden club officers installed

The Woodland Garden Club met at the Shorac Family Center in Wintersville with 16 members present. Hostesses for the evening were Carole Patton and Norma Harris. Outgoing President Amanda Roach conducted the installation of officers for the two-year period beginning in October. She presented an ooga horn to President Carla Gasser to get everyone’s attention and bring meetings to order; a pair of tiny shoes to Vice President Norma Harris to “step in” for the president; a mouse trap to Treasurer Joyce Griffin “to protect” the treasury funds; and a dry erase board to Secretary Carole Patton to record all meetings and activities of the club. A gift of appreciation was presented to Roach. Gasser presided at the business meeting where roll call was answered by sharing a favorite thing about fall. The annual Christmas dinner will be held Dec. 2 at Pastaio Cucina Restaurant in Wintersville. The program for the evening was led by Griffin in a pumpkin floral decorating session. Leaders are, Griffin, seated; and standing, from left, Gasser, Harris and Patton.
