Hannah’s House of Grace

fundraiser dinner Sept. 25

STEUBENVILLE — Hannah’s House of Grace, a transitional home in Steubenville for women leaving prison, is having a fundraising luncheon from noon to 3 p.m. on Sept. 25 at New Life Church, 1492 Knights Road, Weirton.

The theme will be “Health and Wellness,” and the keynote speaker is Se’Yauna Porter Delatte, a salon owner and entrepreneur.

There will be a presentation on skincare tips and how to incorporate fitness into daily life. The requested donation is $10, payable at the door.

Wellsburg Applefest Pageant set for Sept. 26 at Moose Lodge

WELLSBURG — The Wellsburg Applefest Pageant will be held at 11 a.m. on Sept. 26 at the Wellsburg Moose Lodge.

It is open to boys and girls of all ages, with winners to be named in many categories.

Blessing of the Pets Saturday at Burgettstown church

BURGETTSTOWN — Paris Presbyterian Church, located at 127 Steubenville Pike, Burgettstown, will hold its annual Blessing of the Pets on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Dr. Mark Ferris will be on hand to administer rabies vaccinations for $10. Church staff will be blessing animals and handing out treats.

“This is a curbside event, so all you need to do is pull into our parking lot, and we will assist you with getting a vaccine and/or a blessing,” a church spokeperson explained.

Flea market on Sept. 25 at Weirton VFW Post 2716

WEIRTON — The Weirton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2716 at 3534 Main St., Weirton, will host a flea market from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sept. 25.

There will be more than 20 tables, according to a promotional flier.

Grace’s Corner Cupboard scheduled to reopen Tuesday

STEUBENVILLE — Grace Lutheran Church, located at 2105 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville, will be reopening Grace’s Corner Cupboard on Tuesday.

It will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. No ID is necessary.

Future dates are subject to change.

Record-holding snowboarder

to give inspirational talk

STEUBENVILLE — The Ohio Valley Youth Network/Sycamore Youth Center will be having an All Valley Youth and Community Rally at the Wintersville United Methodist Church Center for Hope on Sunday, begining at 6:30 p.m.

It will feature an inspirational talk by world record-holding snowboarder Tom Gilles.

Local acts performing include Cbe 180, hip hop; commUNITY Youth Choir; the Ambassadors Mime Team; Connect Youth Worship Team; Kaly Shafer; J.R. Lewis, hip hop; and Bella Thompson.

The event is focused on youth but is open to all ages and is free of charge.

Just BeClause plans annual golf outing for Sept. 26

BERGHOLZ — The 10th-annual Just BeClause golf outing will be held Sept. 26 at the Carroll Meadows Golf Course, located at 1130 Meadowbrook Land NE, Carrollton.

There is a shotgun start at 8 a.m. The cost is $75 per person, and the entry fee includes green fees and cart and a steak dinner. There will be prizes, a 50-50 drawing and a $1,000 grand prize.

To register call the golf course at (33) 627-2663. All proceeds will benefit the Bergholz-based Just BeClause to assist in providing for families in need during the holiday season.

Evening story hour Wednesday at Brooke County Library

WELLSBURG — The Brooke County Public Library will hold an evening story hour, with Kim Harless, at 5 p.m. on Wednesday.
