“Community Bread Basket does a tremendous job of helping to feed the less fortunate in Brooke and Hancock counties,” noted Recheal Fuscardo, principal of St. Joseph the Worker Grade School in Weirton, which usually steps up around Easter, but due to the increased need, decided to collect food for families at Christmas time. “We teach our students that it is our Christian obligation to feed the hungry,” Fuscardo explained. Helping in the effort were, kneeling, front, from left, Lauren Schuller, Molly Kopa, Kolten Grishkevich and Kelsie Felton, and standing, Sheena Ossman, Shannon Backel, Chloe Orecchio, Hailey Buterbaugh, Bettie Lou Gain, Kenny James, Derborah Bernardi, Recheal Fuscardo, Carole Lammers, Ricky Grishkevich and Tonya Kirk. Individuals, groups or businesses interested in helping the less fortunate through the Community Bread Basket, which is located at 3501 West St., Weirton, can call (304) 670-8637 for information.
