A ‘Faithful Servant’

On Jan. 12, Bill Littell of New Cumberland was presented the “Faithful Servant” award, the highest religious award for adults in Scouting. The 93-year-old has been extremely active in his church — the Christian Church of New Cumberland — and throughout his life has been a strong supporter of Scouting, according to the Rev. Rick Tinsky. Littell served as Cubmaster of Pack 67 for approximately 30 years and was an assistant scoutmaster with Troop 67 for about 10 years. The award was presented to Littell by Rick Greenwood, fellow elder and scouter. Littell was Greenwood’s Cubmaster and also was involved in the Boy Scout Troop when Greenwood moved on to Boy Scouts as an older boy. “In our congregation, Bill has served as deacon, then as elder and chairman of the board,” explained Tinsky. He also has been a regular Sunday School teacher and played his guitar and would sing specials at church and with a band he was involved with at other locations. “It is with great honors that this ‘Faithful Servant’ award was presented to Bill Littell,” Tinsky said. Littell and his wife, the late Eleanor Littll, have two daughters Duska White and Marsha Ford.
