Poinsettia tree is a Charity Hospice tradition

Charity Hospice has its Poinsettia Memorial Tree up at the Fort Steuben Mall in remembrance or in honor of loved ones and is welcoming donations from the public. “Our annual poinsettia tree may look a bit different due to some restrictions with COVID but it still represents all of our family and friends that we honor every year,” notes a post on Charity Hospice’s Facebook page. With the tree are Cathy Cich, right, Charity Hospice founder, and the organization’s new CEO, Heather Sneddon, who helped with the decorations. Questions about the tree can be directed to Charity Hospice at (740) 264-2280. Letters have been sent to past donors and those who have requested being added to the mailing list. There also are letters next to the tree at the mall that can be mailed or dropped off at Charity Hospice, located at 500 Luray Drive, Wintersville. The mailing address is Charity Hospice, P.O. Box 2483, Wintersville OH 43953. “You are invited to make a donation in honor of a loved one, regardless of whether or not they were our patient or not,” notes a letter from Charity Hospice. “We will place a placard with their name on it on a poinsettia plant on the tree. These donations are used to fund services to patients who do not have coverage for hospice services as well for bereavement services we provide to surviving family members and caregivers.”
