Wellsburg Christmas pageant, food drive

offers boost to local residents

WELLSBURG — Participants in the Wellsburg Christmas Pageant and Canned Good Drive offered a boost to local residents in need while competing in various categories virtually.

Ingrid Loy and Alexa Loy, the event’s co-directors, acknowledged Brooke Hills Park for serving as a drop-off point for more than 450 canned goods collected by the participants, who each competed for Christmas Kindness Queen and Princess, among other titles.

Ava Dupke and Caitlyn Heaton were crowned Kindness Queen and Princess, respectively, for accumulating the most donated food.

Other winners were: Jolene Fisher, Miss Baby Christmas and Most Beautiful; Chloe Black, Christmas Princess and Cover Model; and Haileyanna Bada, Miss Preteen Christmas Queen and Miss Photogenic.

Dupke also was named Little Miss Christmas Princess and Miss Personality, while Heaton also was named Junior Miss Christmas Princess.

To avoid contact during the pandemic, participants submitted videos and photos of themselves for judging.
