Weirton Elks helping Salvation Army, library

The Weirton Elks recently made donations of $1,000 to the Weirton Salvation Army to help those in need in the community during the pandemic and $4,500 to the Mary H. Weir Public Library for the Imagination Library in conjunction with Hancock County Schools to provide books to area youth free of charge. The donations were made possible from the Elks National Foundation through the Beacon Grant. On hand for the presentations were, from left, Lt. Gene Hunt of the Weirton Salvation Army; Roger Kirkpatrick, Weirton Elks secretary; and Rik Rekowski, director of the Mary H. Weir Public Library.
