Ohio Beta Alpha Chapter meets, installs officers
The Ohio Beta Alpha Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa Teacher’s Sorority met July 9 at the Unionport Shelter House for a picnic and the installation of officers. Virtual meetings have been held in April and May due to the COVID-19 pandemic. President Linda Lenzi welcomed the group. State President Susan Nolan installed the officers for the 2020-22 term. The installed officers are: Past president, Peggy Pyle, who will serve as district chairman; president, Linda Lenzi; chaplain, Pam Fithen; sergeant at arms, Janice McClain; secretary, Joyce Cammilletti; treasurer, Erin DeSantis; and historian, Stacey Hall. Members discussed possible places to hold meetings in the coming year. Paula DiOrio will check to see if the organization can use Malara Hall in Steubenville again. The committees and chairmen will remain the same as last year. The chapter is in charge of the district meeting in the fall. An outdoor facility and a caterer will be needed. Members were instructed to send their ideas for this meeting to Lenzi. The next meeting will be a Zoom meeting if a suitable place cannot be secured. The meeting is scheduled for Aug. 4. A virtual conference, dealing with state matters, will be hosted on Aug. 28-29 by Nolan, who will send information about the meeting in her newsletter. Michele Fabbro, membership chairman, announced that three people are considering joining the organization. They will be invited to a future meeting. Lenzi and Pyle hosted a picnic lunch for the club, along with door prizes and presents for last year’s officers. Officers and members on hand were, front, from left, Janice McClain, Debbie Wells, Terri Starkey, Linda Lenzi, Michele Fabbro and Teresa Nelson; and back, Stacey Hall, Joyce Cammilletti, Erin DeSantis, Peggy Pyle, Clara Joyce and Paula DiOrio.
