Wintersville church hosting
‘Breakfast with Santa’ Dec. 14
WINTERSVILLE — The Wintersville Church of the Nazarene, 377 Longvue Drive, Wintersville, will be hosting “Breakfast with Santa” on Dec. 14, beginning at 9 a.m.
The free event for all community members will include a waffle bar, scrambled eggs, pastries, juice and coffee. It will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Santa will read the Christmas story and then be available for pictures. A 4×6 photo will be mailed to each family in attendance.
The event also will include a take-home craft table set up for children.
Greater Zion hosting holiday
shopping expo today, Sunday
STEUBENVILLE — A holiday shopping expo will be held at Greater Zion Temple Family Worship Center, located at 500 N. Fifth St.
The times and dates are from noon to 6 p.m. today and from 12:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. The event will offer shopping and lunch. For information, call (740) 282-1046.
Christmas choir festival,
concert at Cadiz Presbyterian
CADIZ — Cadiz Presbyterian Church, 154 W. Market St., will be hosting a Christmas Choir Festival on Sunday, beginning at 7 p.m. The annual event will feature Christmas hymns and music performed by Harrison County church choirs.
Roger Hoard and Dr. Dan Jones will be performing holiday favorites during their Christmas concert on Thursday, beginning at 7 p.m. A love offering will be taken. There will be cookies and refreshments in the fellowship hall following both concerts.

St. Mark Lutheran Church
STEUBENVILLE — St. Mark Lutheran Church, located at 133 Lovers Lane, will be having a cookie sale on Dec. 14. The event will start at 9 a.m., and cookies will be sold for $6 a pound. The sale will benefit Mary of Bethany Ladies Guild.
Christmas concert on two days at Brooke Hills Free Methodist
WELLSBURG — Brooke Hills Free Methodist Church, 1340 Washington Pike, will present a Christmas concert from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and Dec. 14.
There also will be snacks, crafts and a live nativity. The church will hold a candlelight service at 6 p.m. Dec. 24.
Christmas country kitchen
bazaar set at Sargus Hall
WINTERSVILLE — Blessed Sacrament Catholic Women’s Club will be holding a two-day Christmas country kitchen bazaar at Sargus Hall, located at 852 Main St., Wintersville.
The bazaar will be held from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 14 and from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Dec. 15.
Most featured items are uniquely homemade, according to a club spokesperson. They include miscellaneous goods and freshly baked cookies, pies, cakes, candy and fudge. Prices of items are from $1 to $5. No vendors are permitted.
Samples of baked goods along with coffee and Italian popcorn will be complimentary.
‘Birthday Party for Jesus,’
‘Blue Christmas’ service set
BURGETTSTOWN — Paris Presbyterian Church’s Gathering Place events this month include a “Birthday Party for Jesus,” which will be held at noon on Wednesday at 127 Steubenville Pike, Burgettstown.
There will be soup, cake and caroling “in celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ at Christmas,” a flier notes.
Another event is the “Blue Christmas” service, “a night of worship, bringing the light of Christ into the sadness, sorrow and loss of the season.”
That will be held Dec. 18, beginning at 7 p.m.

Gyro sales continue
Tuesday at Holy Trinity
STEUBENVILLE — Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church Philoptochos Society will host its monthly sales of gyros, which will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday at the church, located at 300 S. Fourth St.
The lamb gyros are $7, and the chicken gyros are $8. There will be a 25 cent charge for extra tzatziki sauce. The kouroulakia (twist cookies) are $6 a dozen.
There is free delivery on orders of four or more gyros. Orders will be accepted the day of the sale by phone to (740) 282-9835 or fax at (740) 282-2091. Allowing a minimum of 20 minutes to process phone or fax orders is asked. Walk-in sales also are welcome.
Other sale dates, which also run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., are Jan. 14 and Feb. 11.
Richmond UMC to host
Candlelight service at gazebo
RICHMOND — An outdoor community Christmas candlelight service hosted by the Richmond United Methodist Church will be held at 6 p.m. on Dec. 19 at the gazebo beside the church.
All are welcome to attend the service led by the Rev. Byron Bufkin, the church’s pastor.
The date originally had been set for Dec. 18.
