Annual cookie walk Dec. 14

at Christ United Methodist

WEIRTON — The annual cookie walk at Christ United Methodist Church, which has become a holiday tradition with many in Weirton, will be held in the fellowship hall of the church at 3598 Pennsylvania Ave. on Weirton Heights from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Dec. 14.

Many in the congregation use their favorite recipes to bake dozens of holiday cookies that are displayed on tables throughout the hall. Patrons roam through the selections and pick out what they will need for the holidays at $6 per dozen or call ahead for pickup. Also, there will be a variety of soups for takeout at $3 per pint or $5 per quart.

Christmas cookie sale planned

at Christ Episcopal Church

WELLSBURG — Christ Episcopal Church in Wellsburg will hold its annual Christmas cookie sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Dec. 14 in the parish hall at 1014 Main St.

Pre-orders of lady lox and nut horns can be ordered during November for $7 per dozen by calling Sylvia Ensell at (304) 748-4082.

Several other varieties of cookies will be available on the day of the sale.

Wintersville church hosting

‘Breakfast with Santa’ Dec. 14

WINTERSVILLE — The Wintersville Church of the Nazarene, 377 Longvue Drive, Wintersville, will be hosting “Breakfast with Santa” on Dec. 14, beginning at 9 a.m.

The free event for all community members will include a waffle bar, scrambled eggs, pastries, juice and coffee. It will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Santa will read the Christmas story and then be available for pictures. A 4×6 photo will be mailed to each family in attendance.

The event also will include a take-home craft table set up for children.

Christmas choir festival,

concert at Cadiz Presbyterian

CADIZ — Cadiz Presbyterian Church, 154 W. Market St., will be hosting a Christmas Choir Festival on Dec. 8, beginning at 7 p.m. The annual event will feature Christmas hymns and music performed by Harrison County church choirs.

Roger Hoard and Dr. Dan Jones will be performing holiday favorites during their Christmas concert on Dec. 12, beginning at 7 p.m. A love offering will be taken. There will be cookies and refreshments in the fellowship hall following both concerts.

Holiday craft, vendor show

Dec. 7 at Sugar Grove UMC

TORONTO — Sugar Grove United Methodist Church will host a holiday craft and vendor show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Dec. 7.

Food also will be available for patrons to eat in or get takeout.

First-time Christmas cookie walk set for Dec. 7 in Weirton

WEIRTON — St. Joseph the Worker Grade School cafeteria will be the site of a first-time Christmas cookie walk, which will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Dec. 7.

Homemade cookies will be provided by Rosie’s Cookie Nook and bakers from the parish family. Lady locks, caramel cups, biscotti, peanut butter balls and a variety of other cookies will be sold for $8 per dozen. There will be cash sales only.

The fundraiser will benefit the teachers at St. Joseph the Worker Grade School, 151 Michael Way.

Holiday shopping expo

scheduled for Dec. 7-8

STEUBENVILLE — A holiday shopping expo will be held at Greater Zion Temple Family Worship Center, located at 500 N. Fifth St.

The times and dates are from noon to 6 p.m. on Dec. 7 and from 12:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Dec. 8. The event will offer shopping and lunch. For information, call (740) 282-1046.

St. Mark Lutheran Church

STEUBENVILLE — St. Mark Lutheran Church, located at 133 Lovers Lane, will be having a cookie sale on Dec. 14.

The event will start at 9 a.m., and cookies will be sold for $6 a pound.

The sale will benefit Mary of Bethany Ladies Guild.
