Active shooter awareness

program Oct. 2 at Cadiz library

CADIZ — Eric Wilson, Harrison County Emergency Management director, along with the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department will offer an active shooter awareness program for free to the public at Puskarich Public Library.

It will be held at 6 p.m. on Oct. 2 at the library, which is located at 200 E. Market St., Cadiz.

The focus of the program is to educate members of the public in recommended actions to take should they be confronted with an active shooter situation. The program presenters will:

– Describe actions to take when confronted with an active shooter and responding law enforcement officials;

– Recognize potential workplace violence indicators;

– Describe actions to take to prevent and prepare for potential active shooter incidents; and

– Describe how to manage the consequences of an active shooter.

Mingo Knights of Columbus

hosting pasta dinner Sunday

MINGO JUNCTION — The Mingo Knights of Columbus will be hosting an all-you-can-eat pasta dinner from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

The dinner cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Those under age 4 eat for free. Patrons can dine in or get carryout.
