Alpha Tau Chapter meets
NEW CUMBERLAND — The Alpha Tau chapter (WV) of Alpha Delta Kappa, International Honorary Organization for Women Educators welcomed back members at the September meeting held at Trinity United Methodist Church in New Cumberland.
President Amanda Fisher called the meeting to order.
The Thought for the Day, “Letting Your Leaf Fall,” was read by Fran Jones. Roll call was taken by Corresponding Secretary Shirley Washam and minutes were approved as distributed.
Correspondence included an invitation to the Ohio Valley Fall District meeting to be held at the Glen Dale United Methodist Church. Treasurer Fran Jones gave the financial report and presented the budget. Committee reports were given. The group participated in a fraternity education activity titled “That’s A Match,” which was conducted by Chairman Susan Gracie. A scholarship fundraiser idea and participation in a Secret Sis activity were discussed.
Membership Chairman Velda Icard presented recruitment ideas and distributed materials which could be shared with prospective members.
Hostesses for the meeting were Jeanne Barrett, Michelle Bernardi, and Velda Icard.
The next meeting, celebrating Founder’s Day, will be held on Oct. 8.
