Weirton Farmer’s Market is looking to add more vendors

WEIRTON — The Weirton Farmer’s Market is organizing to serve area residents again this year and is looking for vendors to make this year’s market bigger and better, according to organizers.

The event, sponsored by the Weirton Farmer’s Market Association, features a variety of fruit, vegetables, herbs, Amish jams, home-baked goods and more will be offered.

The market is located on Penco Road in Weirton in the Goodwill Plaza and will be held every Monday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. from July 8 to Oct. 28.

“In addition to our excellent current vendors, we would like to provide a variety of artisans to sell their wares to our customers,” noted Ann Bailey, agricultural and natural resources, program assistant, WVU Extension Service, Hancock County.

“We are looking for someone who sells eggs, candy, candles, herbs, cut flowers, perennials, mums, pumpkins and so much more,” Bailey said, adding, “Are you an artist who paints, sculpts, quilts, blows glass, carves wood, makes jewelry or does any creative thing that you would like to sell?” For information on being a part of the market, contact Bailey at (304) 564-3805.
