Women to meet Tuesday

STEUBENVILLE — Members of the Ohio Valley Business and Professional Women’s Club will continue their “Getting to Know You” program theme Tuesday when they have their dinner meeting beginning at 6 p.m. at Manfred’s on Sunset Boulevard.

The dinner cost is $15 with an RSVP to club President Phyllis Riccadonna at (740) 317-3868 or phyllis66@aol.com.

The 2018-19 meeting schedule of speakers has involved its own members sharing about their careers. Tuesday’s meeting will focus on Nicole Adamski, director of sales at Best Western Plus Franciscan Square Inn and Suites, and Stephanie Rivers, owner of the UPS Store in Steubenville.

The meeting will include plans for the club’s annual wine and shoe fundraiser this spring that generates money to award scholarships.

Riccadonna had explained at the beginning of the club year that the “Getting to Know You” theme is a way not only for members to discuss how their careers evolved, but it also fosters a forum for networking and relationship building.

“My plans were to have speakers in our club since we have such talented women, and sometimes you belong to a club and never know who they (other members) are,” Riccadonna said. “This is a good way to know them.”

The mission of BPW, Riccadonna noted, “is to achieve equality of women in the workplace through knowledge, information and advocacy.” She added, “Our organization really tries to focus on anything we can do to help women in the workplace.”

In addition to Riccadonna, officers are Adamski, vice president; Mary Lou Jones, secretary; and Julie Decker, treasurer. Annual dues are $40. For information on joining, contact Riccadonna.
