Brilliant Lions present coats to pupils at Buckeye North
BRILLIANT — The Brilliant Lions Club Christmas dinner will be held Thursday at the Brilliant Christian Church, beginning at 6 p.m.
The event will include door prizes.
Club members on Nov. 29 presented coats to seven pupils at Buckeye North Elementary School as part of the Coats for Kids program. The club is donating a total of 10. Susan Nolan, a club member and school principal, distributed the winter jackets. Other club members on hand were David Porter, president; Jim Everson, third vice president; and Esther McCoy. Wal-Mart’s of Steubenville supplied a large portion of the cost for coats and gloves, according to Ralph Nickoson, past president.
The club has helped the school by repairing an outdoor stair rail and putting surfacing on the new playground.
The club will participate in the Christmas parade that will be held in the village and begin at the school.
The next meeting will be held Jan. 3.
