Something to smile about
WEIRTON — It’s becoming a matter of family at Crow Dental Associates.
The dental practice founded by Dr. Jeremy Crow and located at 389 American Way in Weirton continues to grow, recently welcoming Dr. Michael Petrides, who will work alongside the staff which includes his brother, Dr. Pete Petrides.
“We always wanted to practice together,” Michael said. “Fortunately, Crow had the same vision for us.”
Natives of Steubenville, the brothers followed similar education paths. Pete beginning at Washington and Jefferson, and Michael at Duquesne, with both eventually attending West Virginia University for dental school.
Pete, who has been with Crow Dental Associates since 2019, said he initially didn’t consider the possibility of returning home early in his career. He explained, during his residency at Canton Mercy Medical Center, he had to take part in a six-week dental rotation.
“I just randomly picked here,” he said of Crow Dental Associates. “I liked it.”
A few years later, Michael, also doing his residency at Canton opted for the same rotation, and soon after was offered an opportunity to join his brother in Weirton.
While they note their training is almost exactly the same, Pete has taken up a focus on dental implants and root canals, while Michael has become interested in prosthetic and cosmetic dentistry.
Returning home to the Ohio Valley has provided both with an opportunity to stay connected with family and friends in a familiar location. It’s something that’s become more important to them in recent years.
“It’s nice when you’re working one day and you see a friend on the schedule,” Pete said.
“There’s no place around like this area,” Michael said.
