MARTINS FERRY — United Bancorp Inc., holding company of Unified Bank, has captured the 2020 Raymond James Community Bankers Cup for its superior performance during the previous 12 months.

The cup is awarded each year based on superior performance in community banking.

This award recognizes the top 10 percent of community banks based on various profitability, operational efficiency and balance sheet metrics. Exchange-traded domestic banks with assets between $500 million and $10 billion are evaluated and co sansidered for the award.

“Being awarded the R.J. Cup is analogous to winning the Stanley Cup in hockey. We are truly honored to be considered one of the most elite and highest performing publicly traded community banking organizations in the United States. Team is everything at United Bancorp and our subsidiary, Unified Bank. It took hard work and perseverance, dedication to our craft and a true team effort to achieve this monumental award,” said Scott Everson, president and chief executive officer of United Bancorp and president, chairman and CEO of Unified Bank.

United Bancorp is located in Martins Ferry and is the only publicly traded and listed company headquartered in Belmont County. Through its single bank charter, Unified Bank, the company has 20 banking centers that serve Athens, Belmont, Carroll, Fairfield, Harrison, Jefferson and Tuscarawas counties in Ohio and Marshall counties in West Virginia. That list includes Unified Banking Centers in Tiltonsville and Dillonvale.
