Eagle announces staff changes

WELLSBURG — Officials with Eagle Manufacturing Co. of Wellsburg have announced the promotion of Steve Roberts to national sales manager and the hiring of Michael Oliu and Ryan Sperlazza as international sales manager and business development manager, respectively.

The managers will report to Joseph C. Eddy, president and chief executive officer, on matters related to new business and sales for Eagle Manufacturing.

Formerly Eagle’s business development manager, Roberts has a background in chemical and manufacturing industries, having worked for Bayer and the LANXESS Corp. As national sales manager, he will work with Eagle customers and manufacturing sales representatives across the U.S. on all matters related to growing domestic business opportunities.

Roberts holds a bachelor’s degree in business and a master’s degree in business administration from Wheeling Jesuit University. He and his wife of 25 years, Kris, have two children.

Oliu was employed for 25 years as vice president of M&P Export in Manasquan, N.J., where he specialized in international business development and key foreign negotiations. He has a bachelor’s degree in international business from Penn State University. He and his wife of 29 years, Elvira, have two children.

As business development manager, Sperlazza will be responsible for Eagle’s budgeting and sales forecasting, new markets and customer development and retention.

He has 13 years of sales and customer service experience, having worked in the banking and insurance industry. He is a former Wellsburg councilman and served on the city’s finance and planning committees. He volunteers for local youth organizations and is a former semi-pro football player for the Ohio Valley Greyhounds in Wheeling.

Sperlazza holds a bachelor’s degree from West Liberty University. He and his wife, Ashley, have two children.

Steve, Mike and Ryan are excellent managers and offer our employees and customers extensive knowledge about the manufacturing industry, the company and our product lines. Eagle is a leading manufacturer of safety storage cabinets, safety cans, material handling products, spill containment units and poly drums for use in industrial, lab, health care and consumer markets.
