Grand prize winner

Wilma Brock of Triadelphia was the winner of a stove during the Taste of Home Cooking School, presented by the Herald-Star and Weirton Daily Times, held April 20 at St. Florian Hall in Wintersville. Frank & Jerry’s Furniture and Appliance offered the oven as the event’s main giveaway, while other prizes were part of the evening, as well as a Taste of Home presentation by Dana Elliott, culinary specialist. On hand for the grand prize presentation were, from left, Paul Giannamore, Herald-Star staff writer, and Ross Gallabrese, executive editor of the Herald-Star and The Weirton Daily Times, who were masters of ceremony; Brock; and Maggie McGinnis, special events coordinator for the newspapers. All About Women Associates Inc. at Weirton Medical Center was the event’s title sponsor. Local sponsors included Hancock County Savings Bank, Riesbeck’s Food Markets, M&M True Value Hardware, Celebrations and Iannetti’s Garden Center.
