Charge sought: A nurse was slapped in the face with a towel, Tuesday. Police said her alleged assailant was on a mental health hold and had “acted out several times earlier in the shift” before swatting her with the towel. The nurse wants to pursue charges, they said.

Juvenile issues: A Sinclair Avenue mother said a neighbor told her he saw two boys and a dog chasing her kids into the woods behind her house after they got off the bus, Wednesday. The same boys have caused problems for her kids before, but the mother of the two boys said she saw them with the dog but “they never chased them into the woods.” She said the neighbors’ kids “turned around and went back home when they saw her.”

Got the boot: A woman in the 2300 block of Chestnut Street wanted a man removed from her home “because he was intoxicated,” Wednesday. Police said after speaking with him the man had a friend give him a ride.

Theft: A Pennsylvania Avenue man reported the theft of his Nintendo Switch, Wednesday. He told police a female known to him may have taken it, but police said she was present and insisted she did not. She said the man had her car keys and wouldn’t give them back, but he turned them over to police who gave them to her so she could leave.

Charged: Christina L. Vecchione, 56, 108 Granitor Ave, Mingo Junction, misdemeanor theft, Wednesday.

Fraud: The owner of a Wintersville pizza shop said someone called in a fraudulent order for 10 pizzas valued at just under $123 for a supposed birthday party, Wednesday. The driver said when he knocked on the door an elderly female who answered told him she hadn’t ordered them, he thought he might have been given the wrong address so he called the person who’d placed the order back but “all he could hear was kids laughing in the background.” Deputies called the phone number associated with the order, but no one would answer, so they left a message requesting a call back.

Needs help: A man in Adena said someone was trying to kill him, Wednesday. He told deputies he didn’t know who it was and admitted he’d never seen them, but they had a gun. When deputies asked him how he knew the person had a gun if he’d never seen him, they said he “became defensive and didn’t want to talk about it because there was nothing we could do for him.” He requested a ride to Mount Pleasant, then changed his mind because he wasn’t permitted at that residence and asked them to drive him to a friend’s home in Yorkville. Deputies were asked to return to that residence because the man was in someone’s driveway and wouldn’t leave.

Woodstalker: An Ohio Department of Natural Resources officer requested backup investigating a call at a campground in Bloomingdale alleging a man in the woods was watching campers, Wednesday. A camper had reported seeing a man dressed all in black and wearing a ski mask looking at him from the woods and said when he approached him to find out who he was, “the man ran into the woods.”

Served: Nicholas Rex Bozman, 33, 1385 township Road 428, Toronto, failure to appear (possession of drugs), Tuesday.
