Steubenville Police
Charge sought: A nurse was slapped in the face with a urine-soaked towel, Tuesday. Police said her alleged assailant was on a mental health hold and had “acted out several times earlier in the shift” before swatting her with the towel. The victim reported “her face, hair and head were covered in the patient’s urine and stated it also entered her mouth,” police said. The nurse wants to pursue charges, they said.
Bottled up: A caller reported a disturbance and possible gunshot at a building in the 800 block of Market Street, Tuesday. Police said when they arrived a woman was sweeping up broken glass and said she told them two men had been in an altercation and “a glass bottle was dropped and shattered in the process.” One of the men involved “had fresh scratches on his face but claimed they were from a cat” and said he didn’t know who the other man was. Police said those present “denied any weapons being involved and (said) the noise was the glass bottle shattering.”
Stolen: A skid loaded with cold patch for asphalt repair was stolen from an apartment complex in the 3000 block of Johnson Road, Tuesday. The building manager said about 25 bags of cold patch were on the skid.
Drugs: An apparent overdose was reported in the 400 block of Lawson Avenue, Tuesday. Police said Steubenville EMS already had the man in an ambulance when they arrived and advised when they entered the residence, they found the unidentified male on the living room floor, naked and unresponsive and revived him with four doses of Narcan. He was taken to the hospital for evaluation
Drugs: An apparent overdose was reported in a bathroom at a S. 4th Street location, Tuesday. Employees had already administered Narcan before police arrived and had already fled, but police located him leaving the building. He was issued a drug overdose form and transported to the hospital for evaluation.
Booked: Michael Allen Mills, 42, 219 Main St., Follansbee, failure to appear (Wintersville County Court), Tuesday. Mills also was cited for driving under suspension after a traffic stop on Lawson Avenue, police said
Served: Tanner Edwards, 30, 1026 McKinley Ave., Steubenville, bench warrant (Municipal Court), Tuesday.
Cited: Jacob E. Nation, 28, 3825 Marlamont Way, Weirton, bench warrant (Muncipal Court).
