Child pornography charged: A city resident was booked into the county jail Monday on child pornography charges, Monday. Police said Leroy D. Bee, 42, 229 Ravine St, Apt. 3, was charged with two counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor as well as misdemeanor theft. No further details were immediately available.
Animal cruelty: A caller reported finding a dog abandoned in the woods, tied to a tree in the 600 block of Spring Avenue, Monday. The caller said he was walking in the woods behind his house when he saw the brown dog. Police said it was tethered to a tree with a short chain and had no food, shelter or water.
Shoving match: A Maryland Avenue resident told police he called them because his wife struck him but he no longer needed their help, Monday. Police told him they still needed to speak with his wife, who told them they’d been arguing about their child’s online schooling and started shoving one another. Neither of them wanted to pursue charges, even after police spotted “redness around the left side of (his wife’s) neck from being shoved.”
Booked: Xavior J. Lynch, 18, 730 N. Seventh St., Steubenville, possession of a firearm, Friday; Jared Drennan, 33, 1414 Oregon Ave., Steubenville, domestic violence, Saturday. Drennan allegedly was arguing with a sibling “and struck him in the face multiple times,” police said; Ed R. Vires, 40, Danville, Va, fugitive from justice warrant out of Virginia, Sunday; Ashley McIntire, 27, 436 S. Fifth St, Steubenville, warrant for failure to appear (Wintersville County Court), Sunday.
