Behaving badly: A resident in the 1400 block of State Street said her husband “had been drinking heavily and being obnoxious,” Friday. She asked police to tell her neighbor that “she is sorry for any troubles that (he) causes and … for his display of drunken behavior.” The neighbor said she’s not the only one bothered by his behavior and said he had “made remarks to her … and even approached her, coming face-to-face with her in front of her residence” but appreciated his wife’s concern and said she had no problem with them, until later when she told them her landlord told her the man’s wife had “made allegations against her, claiming that she had threatened her husband.” The neighbor was upset and while police were speaking with the neighbor, the man “began interrupting and causing further issues” and was encouraged to return to his home. Police told her they would speak with the landlord to make sure he was aware of what had actually happened that day. Less than two hours later, police had to return to her property because the man was “intoxicated and yelling” and came on her porch and began knocking on her door. Police said he was “clearly intoxicated” and police advised him to stay off the woman’s property and leave her alone or he’d be arrested. She was given information on obtaining an order of protection against him. An hour later she reported he was back on her porch, refusing to leave. Police report she was very upset because he’d been causing her problems all day, but he was back in his own home by then and “seemingly calm.”
Playing games: A Lawson Avenue resident said someone keeps knocking on her front door but when she opens it, no one is there, Friday. The apartment below hers is vacant, so police spoke with the man living upstairs who said he hadn’t heard anyone in the hallway and that he hadn’t knocked on her door. Later, the woman called to report the neighbor had left a note by her door “asking her to stop stomping her feet and being overly loud” and included some derogatory language, so police went back to him and told him to stop “bothering her and leaving notes at her door.”
Anger issues: A caller reported a man standing in the 1200 block of Lincoln Avenue “causing a disturbance,” Sunday. Police said he was “highly irate and did not wish to speak” with them and went back in his residence.
Phoned it in: Someone reported a couple “arguing and yelling at one another” in the 200 block of South Fourth Street, Saturday. Police found them in a vacant lot and they admitted they’d been arguing “over an issue with a cell phone (they) share.” The two of them calmed down and left the area on foot.
Go time: A man found sleeping on a porch in the 300 block of North Fifth Street was told the property owners don’t want people trespassing on the property, Saturday. He gathered his belongings and left the area.
Fraud: A city resident said she went to pick up her nearly $200 grocery order only to find out someone else had already claimed her foods, Saturday.
Had enough: A man was refusing to leave Mr. Fuel, Saturday. He told them he’d been accused of shoplifting there recently and employees told him they didn’t want him there. After employees confirmed he was not welcome on the property he was told to leave and not return.
Over-indulged: A Lawson Avenue resident to police a male at her residence was “highly intoxicated,” but he was going to call it a night.
Found: A gun found in the 400 block of Rosemont Avenue had the slide “locked back” and had five live rounds, Friday.
Dangerous: Callers reported seeing a man driving recklessly through the mall parking lot, Friday. The driver told police he and his girlfriend had argued and she walked to Walmart and admitted he’d been “driving quickly” before parking. He was advised to calm down and refrain from arguing.
Chaser: A driver was spotted running a stop sign at Dock and Seventh streets, Saturday. The driver told police a man “had just run out of the woods and began chasing after his vehicle” and said he didn’t stop because he had his kids in his car and didn’t want the man catching up to him. He was warned.
Lost: An Alvaredo Boulevard resident told police she lost her wallet while she was working at First Fridays on Fourth, Saturday. She said she was helping someone and put it down on a vendor table and forgot to pick it up and when she went back for it, it was gone. She said it contained an ID, credit cards and some cash.
Found: A wallet found during Friday’s First Fridays on Fourth was turned over to police, Saturday. It contained a child’s school ID as well as cash, police said.
A woman told police she found a wallet at the fort, Saturday.
