Steubenville Police
Love struck: A man in the 700 block of Market Street had a bloodied lip but he told police he “bit his lip while yelling” during an argument with his wife, Tuesday. Callers had told police they could hear the couple fighting in the apartment, but the couple initially said nothing physical had occurred. When police spotted broken glass and liquid on the floor, the male said his wife had “pushed items off the kitchen table” but refused to admit his lip had been bloodied “from contact with (his wife.)” Neither of them wanted to pursue charges, and the male said he would leave for the night.
Road hazard: Someone was tossing toys and other items out a window at Fort Steuben Apartments onto the 300 block of Washington Street, Wednesday. Police said the items were in the road but an employee was on scene picking the items up. Police attempted to make contact with residents at several apartments on the seventh floor of the apartment complex that had open windows but no one would come to the door.
Simmering: A woman said she was in the area of the Lawson Avenue overpass when another female stopped her vehicle and threatened her, Wednesday. She said she’s had problems with the other woman in the past.
Reported: Callers complained that juveniles on scooters were “attempting to hit customers” in the Hollywood Plaza parking lot, Tuesday. Police didn’t see any violations when they arrived.
Helping himself: Police were told a man who entered Rural King two weeks ago wearing tennis shoes left wearing a $210 pair of Ariat boots he didn’t pay for, Wednesday. Employees showed police video of the man selecting and paying for several other items before exiting the store.
Kids play: A caller complained three males were dumpster diving in the 2800 block of Sunset Boulevard, but police said three juveniles riding electric scooters told them they were actually “jumping off the dumpster,” Wednesday. The kids apologized and police advised them to stay off the property.
Code issues: Notices of violation were sent to the owner/occupant of a property at 2541 Chestnut St., garbage bags and cardboard boxes piled in front yard; 1223 Ridge Ave., boxes and scattered litter in alley behind fence; 1241 Ridge Ave., large pile of garbage and junk piled in rear of property; 1244 Maryland Aven., junk and boxes piled on street side; 1317 Maryland Ave., litter and garbage piled behind the residence; 1323 Maryland Ave., garbage and trash piled behind residence; 1301 Pennsylvania Ave., junk and litter in rear of property.
