Police reports
Jefferson County Sheriff
Last laugh: A woman said someone driving a low-riding car was “traveling at high rates of speed and all over the roadway” on county Road 54, Monday. She said the driver ran several cars off the road “due to driving on both sides of the roadway.” Another caller described the same vehicle “with blaring music” running a stop sign on township Road 55. That man said the vehicle “must have broken or something” because the driver pulled into the Chestnut Grove Cemetery and parked, then fled on foot. The vehicle was towed from the church property at the owner’s expense.
Steubenville Police
Foul mouthed: An Oregon Avenue resident said his son “was in a bad mood … and began cursng at his mother after being told to clean his room,” then began breaking things, Monday. The child’s mother refused to speak with police and the father didn’t want to pursue it further.
Sad state: A woman had multiple interactions with police over the weekend after she was asked to leave several different properties but refused, Sunday. Police had to remove her from two businesses in the 100 block of North Fourth Street before she ran toward a cruiser and tried to open the passenger door, “looking for water,” while wearing only her underwear and a blanket. Police said she was incoherent and disoriented and realized her belongings were on a porch on private property. She was taken to the hospital due to concerns that she would be unable to care for herself and had no clothing for the cold weather.
Oddity: A man was standing in the 1300 block of Oregon Avenue, yelling, Monday. Police said he told them he was standing outside when someone started yelling at him from a window down the street.

Leap of faith: Troopers took a Pittsburgh man into custody after he allegedly jumped off a third-floor balcony while trying to escape them and then was tazed during an accident investigation, Sunday. Shyheim M. Kirby-Faulkner, 29, was charged by OSHP with operating a vehicle under the influence, resisting arrest, failure to comply with a police officer and improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle. City Police, who assisted, reported troopers had pulled Kirby-Faulkner’s vehicle over in the 200 block of South Sixth Street after an accident, but when they had him exit the car he allegedly fled on foot. They said they caught up to Kirby-Faulkner in the 400 block of Adams Street, where he was spotted on a third story balcony at the rear of the building. Police said they ran up the gangway on the east side of the building in time to see Kirby-Faulkner jump, landing on the sidewalk with tazer prongs attached to his back. They allege Kirby-Faulkner “again got up and started running” until they tackled him to the ground, where they say he continued to resist arrest. Police said a gun was found on the floorboard of his vehicle.
