Cattle rustling: A Bergholz property owner said someone stole 10 cows he considered pets, Friday. He said his property is fenced but it had been damaged at the top of his hill, and told deputies he’d heard ATVs and dogs barking coming from that area earlier in the week. He said four black-and-white cows, two black-and-white calves, a black cow with white ears and a cow with Dalmatian coloring were missing.
Egged on: A Bloomingdale resident reported a man who lapsed into road rage now comes by during the evening hours … and throws eggs at her home,” Saturday. She said she was following the man a few days ago when he stopped at the railroad tracks and then remained there, even though there was no train coming, so she went around him. She said he sped up and was driving “very close behind her” on her way home, and since then has been hurling eggs at her home and her pets. Deputies spoke to the man and informed them if he kept causing problems he would “probably be charged.”
Charged: An Island Creek township man is facing multiple charges after an alleged domestic violence incident, Thursday. Deputies said they booked Donald George Longo, 48, 28 township Road 281, 76, Steubenville, into the Jefferson County jail on charges of domestic violence, aggravated possession of drugs and possession of marijuana. Longo allegedly went through a woman’s phone and found old messages between her and an unnamed ex-boyfriend and then “began accusing her of cheating,” deputies said. The woman said he attacked her She told deputies she didn’t cheat on him but eventually told him she had so he’d stop beating her, and deputies said she was covered with bruises on her arms, head, hands, sides, legs, torso and face. With her permission deputies searched the property and reported finding “marijuana plants sitting in plain view” in the garage along with a large amount of raw marijuana in a paper bag and a bag of marijuana, individual plastic bags and a bag containing 13 grams of suspected methamphetamine, deputies said.
Bad hire: A Mingo Junction woman said she hired a man she met at a restaurant in West Virginia to do some work at her home, but after she paid him he never gave her a copy of their agreement. She said he and his men removed copper pipe, construction supplies and a light fixture and other items from her home. Deputies told her to compile a complete list of items taken from her home and include their value.
Chat fight: A Dillonvale man said he was on a chat site when he got into a “text dispute” with another man who threatened to come to his home and assault him, Saturday. He said the other man texted his address to him to prove he knew it. He said he has no idea who the angry chatter is.
ID theft: A Mingo Junction man reported his identity had been stolen, Friday. He said his e-mail and password were changed on his Apple account, and there’d also been changes to his Discover and Apple Pay accounts. Two unauthorized devices were added to his Apple account, deputies said.
Robbed: A resident living along township Road 678 returned home to find a door open and a big screen TV missing, Sunday. The thief didn’t bother taking the homeowner’s laptop, watch and gift cards, deputies said.
Booked: Stacy A. Bennett, 57, 108 Madison Ave., Mingo Junction, warrant out of Washington County, Ohio, for failure to appear, Friday; Michael Roy Cvengross, 38, 1106 Cinder Road SE, Carrolton, receiving stolen property, Thursday.
Cited: Latannae Nicole Birden, 809 Market St.,Apt. H-1, Steubenville, driving under suspension and speeding; Joseph Vanoudenhove, Struthers, speeding.

Provoking: An Adams Street resident said two people living across the hall from him are trying to get him arrested for violating a protection order, Sunday. He said he was outside his apartment when the woman came up to him and waved her cell phone in his face and started recording him, telling police he asked her to leave him alone “as he is aware (they) have an active protection order against him. He said it’s been an ongoing issue and said the other two “have been making derogatory statements … toward (him) and his children as well as his wife,” and wanted police to know what they were up to before they tried to have him “wrongfully arrested for unintentionally violating a protection order.” Police spoke with the other couple, and said the woman claimed she was outside when she saw the man so she began recording him “due to his alleged recent actions.” They were advised to stay away from the man.
Asked to leave: Police were dispatched to a hotel room after the occupants created a disturbance, Sunday. Police located the couple, who said they’d been arguing and were in the process of gathering their things as management had requested.
