Steubenville police

Noticed: Notices of violation were sent to the owners of properties at 740 N. Fifth, 206 Cunninghan and 251 Cunningham, high grass; and 1414 Plum St, litter.

Unbalanced: A “highly intoxicated” man was found sitting outside a residence in the 900 block of North Sixth Street after an argument with his pregnant girlfriend, Wednesday. The woman told police he’d been “throwing items around the house” and at one point tried to push past her. To avoid falling herself, she said she pushed him away and he fell, striking his head on a glass coffee table.

Inconspicuous: A caller reported seeing a black Corvette fleeing the scene after running over a mail box in the 700 block of Lovers Lane, Wednesday. The witness told police a short time later the driver returned, but in a different car, and said he’d been at the wheel. The witness recognized the man, and with his help police said they located the Corvette, still warm with heavy damage to the front passenger side corner. No one answered the door when police knocked so the vehicle was towed.

Wal-Mart employees said Richard was spotted in the store in violation of an agreement he signed five years ago to stay out of the store. They also allege he walked a $142 car battery past all points of sale before leaving it at the front of the store and fleeing. Police said he also was cited for driving under suspension.
