Jefferson County sheriff

Naked man: A caller reported a naked man walking in Fernwood State Forest, Wednesday. Deputies said the man, who was living in a tent, told them he didn’t think anyone else was around and said he’d been left homeless by a fire.

Ransacked: A Wintersville resident said a Bushmaster XM-15, a 65-inch Samsung Curve, four magazines for a Beretta, a .40-caliber handgun, one 30-round magazine for an AR-15, three 40-round magazines and $400 cash were taken from his apartment while he was at work, Wednesday. The man told deputies he believes his ex-girlfriend robbed him in retaliation for an incident that occurred about a week ago.

Arrested: Christie Sproull, 47, 1588 State Route 43, Richmond, probation violation, Wednesday.

Cited: Dwayne Ellison, 45, 611 Harrison St., Newell, driving under suspension; Dakayla Miasha Williams, 21, 4107 Adena St., Weirton, speeding and no valid operators license

Steubenville police

Mowing needed: Owners of properties at 710 Greenfield Ave.; 1230 Pennsylvania Ave.; 1211, 1213 and 1217 State St.; 515 Lawson; 1305 Cardinal; and 232 Bryden were notified their grass is too high, Wednesday. Officers said a notice also was sent to the owner of a property at 1647 Oregon Ave., after litter and trash was spotted behind the residence.

Vandals: A residence and cars in the 1400 block of Pennsylvania Avenue were egged, Wednesday. Callers recognized one of the offenders.

Juvenile: A child threw charcoal briquettes at the Oregon Avenue home of an individual who had scolded him the day before for throwing rocks at street signs, Wednesday.

Cited: Joseph M. Lemasters, 27, 1095 Wilson Ave., Steubenville, red light violation; Niki Jo Delaney, 35, 1239 Tweed Ave., Steubenville, driving under suspension, Wednesday.

Arrested: Jeno L. Wall, 29, no fixed address, domestic violence, Thursday.

Arrested: Jiah L. Minniefield, 23, 624 North Fifth St., domestic violence and obstructing, Thursday.

Arrested: Heather A. Nickoson, 44, 102 Dogwood Lane, Toronto,petit theft, Thursday.

Arrested: Amy J. Hanes, 28, 301 North Seventh St., failure to appear, Thursday.

Counterfeit money: The Kroger Fuel Center reported receiving a counterfeit $100 bill Thursday.
