Steubenville police

Arrested: Dierie Jackson, 37, 214 Store Ave., Akron, public intoxication, Wednesday.

Arrested: Bryant Owens, 18, 480 Dresden Ave., Steubenville, two counts domestic violence, Wednesday. Owens allegedly threw a cane and other items at one family member and punched another in the face.

Arrested: William VanDyke, 26, 125 Ravine St., Mingo Junction, and Abigail Gordon, 26, 1431 Henry Ave., Steubenville, each charged with possession of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and child endangerment, Wednesday.

Arrested: Ronald May, 46, 247 N. Ninth St., operating a vehicle under the influence, Wednesday.

Arrested: Jiah L. Minniefield, 23, 624 North 5th St., Steubenville, domestic violence and obstruction, Wednesday. Police reported the woman caused a disturbance at a family member’s residence, refusing to leave when they asked her to. They said the woman was taken into custody after allegedly threatening to kill and assault family members and threatening to pay someone to carry out a hit.

Shots fired: A resident in the 1600 block of Ridge Avenue reported finding bullet holes in his windows and siding, Wednesday. Police said they found five spent bullets, “some of which entered through the window and passed through several walls before falling on the ground or enbedding in the opposite wall.”

Fired up: A Steubenville resident said his son poured gasoline on his porch but fled without igniting it after he refused to let him stay there, Wednesday. The man said his son had poured gasoline on a family’s members porch in Weirton, lit a piece of paper and tossed it on the gasoline-soaked porch earlier in the evening.
