Steubenville police

Disturbance: Police responded to a call of an argument, Wednesday. One of the individuals was said to have a knife, according to the report. Police said that individual said they were cooking during the argument and inadvertently carried the knife with them. The other subject involved was found to have a warrant for failure to appear. Marijuana also was found on that individual, according to the report. Jaquin R. Boston, 30, 2703 Cleveland Ave., was cited for possession of marijuana and summoned for a bench warrant.

Domestic: Police were flagged down by pedestrians and alerted to a man striking a female in an alley, Wednesday. Upon arriving at the scene, police said they observed the man picking up the female. Police observed fresh blood on the female’s face and her to be bleeding. The man told police the female was intoxicated and that he had been told she was drinking and doing narcotics and had fallen several times, according to the report. Police observed the female to be afraid of the man, and she eventually admitted that he struck her, according to the report. According to the report, when the female did not want to press charges, the officer filed the charges. Joseph L. Miller, 43, 321 Woodlawn Road, was charged with domestic violence.

Assault: Police responded to a call of an assault that had already occurred, Wednesday. According to the report, a woman told police that she dropped someone off at another individual’s house and was repeatedly struck and kicked in the head by two individuals there. The officer observed the woman to have cuts on her face, chest and shoulder and redness around her neck. The report was forwarded to the prosecutor.

Spit on: Police responded to a call of an incident at a drive-through, Wednesday. A drive-through employee told police that a man became irate, swore at employees and spit on the outside of the window. The employee said they then shut the window after speaking to the individual again and made a gesture at the man, according to the report. Police said the employee said the man then forced the window open and spit on the employee.

Bit: Police responded to a call of a dog biting someone multiple times, Wednesday. The individual told police the dog ran out of an open door and attacked them. Tylan M. Mitchell, 24, 419 Union Ave., was cited for a dog at large.

Arrested: Police responded to a call of a disturbance, Thursday. A woman told police she had been assaulted and advised police the individual was intoxicated and said he would fight police if they were called, according to the report. In the process of locating the man and giving him commands, police were notified of an active warrant against the individual. James Oxley, 33, 1111 Claire Ave., was arrested for a bench warrant.

Cited: Andrew Mossor, 31, 1418 Madison Ave., Toronto, red light violation.

Hit-skip: Police responded to a report of shots fired on the 200 block of S. Fourth Street, Thursday. Upon arrival, the police did not find any evidence of shots fired, but observed a vehicle that had been struck while parked, according to the report. Police said a witness saw the the vehicle that struck the parked vehicle leave the scene. The scene was turned over to detectives.

Stopped: Police observed a man believed to have warrants walking, then get into a vehicle, Thursday. Police confirmed the man had warrants and stopped vehicle stopped. The driver of the vehicle gave police consent to search, according to the report. Police said empty drug containers and a baggie with a substance that tested positive for heroin was located. Christopher R. Gontas, 39, 108 Heathmore Drive, Weirton, was held to appear for possession of drugs. James G. Sesto III, 46, 107 Crist Ave., Weirton, was released to appear.

Arrested: Teasha Blue, 27, 133 Reichart Ave., Wintersville, failure to appear, Friday.
