Steubenville

Theft: An electric Maytag dryer and two kayaks stolen from a porch at a residence in 100 lock of McDougal Avenue, Sunday.

Brazen: A shopper left a Sunset Boulevard hardware store without paying for a mirror, Christmas lights and other merchandise, Sunday.

Hit-Skip: The owner of a vehicle parked on S. Seventh St. told police he saw a car back out of a side street and strike the rear of his car, Sunday. The driver of the second car fled the scene, but the driver who witnessed the accident as able to provide police with a description of the car and its license plate. Vehicle tracked to a residence in Mingo Junction and towed after police allegedly found damages coinciding to the damage done to the parked vehicle.

Cited: Ryan Stevens, 39, 143 Forest road, Weirton, red light violation. Citation issued following a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Sunset and state Route 7, Sunday.

Jefferson County sheriff

Arrested: Calvin Daye, 25, 102 Carothers St., Turtle Creek, Pa., warrant out of Geagua County, Thursday. Also cited by deputies for speeding.

Damaged: A laptop was broken during a domestic disturbance at a residents on state Route 150, Smithfield Township. Dillonvale, Saturday. Victim did not wish to pursue charges, deputies said.

Disturbance: Four family members involved in a domestic disagreement on Township road 290, Rush Creek Township, Hammondsville, Saturday. No charges filed.

Missing: A vehicle reported stolen from a service center in Mingo Junction, Sunday. A window at the garage had been shattered several days previous, but owner said he simply boarded it up because he didn’t realize anything had been taken. Missing vehicle spotted in Fairfield County over the weekend with a fictitious registration, but was removed before officers could take possession.

Wintersville

Arrested: David D. DeSmith, 26, 153 Reichart Ave., Wintersville, domestic violence charge pending, Sunday.

Mingo Junction

Cited: Stella M. Andriano, 66, 623 Western Ave., Mingo Junction, speeding; Joseph W. Minch, 75, 682 Commercial St., Mingo Junction, speeding; and Norma J. Pickford, 79. 208 Granitor Ave., Mingo Junction, speeding.
