Steubenville police

Arrested: Clarence P. Lawson, 66, 2514 Sunset Boulevard, Steubenville, petty theft, Friday.

Arrested: Ziara West-Carlock, 21, 1324 Pennsylvania Ave., Steubenville, failure to appear, Friday.

Arrested: William Stevens, 27, 144 Egginston Lane, Wheeling, domestic violence, criminal trespass and possession of drugs, Friday.

Cited: Michael Johnston Jr., 113 Spring Ave., Mingo Junction, failure to control.

Found: A firearm was found in the backyard of a residence in the 700 block of Dock Street, Friday.

Stolen: A package was reported taken from a residence in the 700 block of Market Street, Friday.

Lost-and-found: A woman told police she dropped $165 in cash at the Bureau of Motor Vehicles, Friday. The individuals who picked up the money were identified from surveillance video. Police encouraged the two to return the money when they spotted them on the street later in the day, but they had only $88.

Probe: Police investigating reports two young children were left outside, unattended, for two hours, Friday.

Threatened: A woman told police another woman accosted her in a Hollywood Plaza business and threatened to punch her over a custody issue, Friday.

Weapon: Callers reported a man walking up Wellesley Avenue with a knife. Police were unable to locate him when they arrived on scene.

Jefferson County sheriff

Arrested: Marshall Landon, 28, 441 Fourth St., Bergholz, falsification and contempt of court, Friday.

Arrested: Clayton Luyester, 25, 925 Scio Road, Scio, menacing, Friday.

Reports: Residents in the vicinity of State Route 151, Mingo Junction, reported hearing shots in the woods behind their homes, Saturday. Deputies were unable to locate offenders.

Stolen: A 2019 Polaris side-by-side utility vehicle reported stolen from a pipeline workside on County Road 1 outside Mount Pleasant, Friday. Workers said they’d tried unsuccessfully to wedge the vehicle between other, larger construction vehicles to lessen the chance of theft.
