Steubenville police

Arrested: Waldo Sarjeant, 46, 1629 Ridge Ave., Steubenville, bench warrant, Monday.

Arrested: Destiny Waugh, 24, 916 N. 6 th St., Steubenville, warrant charging failure to appear, Monday. Waugh also cited for driving under suspension.

Arrested: Ryan F. Gooch, 28, 732 E. Carlton St., Steubenville, falsification, active warrants for petty theft and contempt of court, Monday.

Arrested: April Livingston, 43, 812 Brady Ave., Steubenville, bench warrant alleging failure to appear, Monday.

Stabbed: A resident in the 1500 block of Oregon Avenue told police his girlfriend stabbed him in the face with a kitchen knife Tuesday. The victim, who had been asleep, said his attacker suspected he’d been unfaithful and was angered when she was unable to find his cell phone. The man was bleedingfrom his nose, police said.

Punched: A woman in the 1300 block of Oregon Avenue told police her boyfriend punched a hole in her wall, overturned her bed and clogged the toilet with household items, Tuesday.

Prowler: A resident in the 400 block of Lauretta Drive told police she spotted a prowler dressed in black in her yard after motion detecting light was triggered, Monday.

Fraud: A resident of Maple Way told police someone used her name to open an account with AEP, Monday.

Recovered: An iPhone was found by city workers along the southbound lane of state Route 7, Monday.

Domestic: A Central Court resident reported her boyfriend took her cell phone and struck her with his car after she threw him out Monday. Complainant suffered some cuts and scrapes to her lower leg and chin.

Damaged: A resident in the 600 block of Brady Aveneue told police someone kicked entry door open, nothing appeared missing, Monday.

Jefferson County sheriff

Arrested: Dennis McClelland, 41, 9203 State Route 164, Amsterdam, theft, obstruction of justice, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to comply and fictitious reports, Monday.

Scam: A county resident reported someone tried to scam his mother-in-law out of $8,500. The complainant said someone claiming to be the woman’s grandson said he’d been taken into police custody in Columbus after an accident. A second male told the woman she needed to stuff $8,500 into a magazine and FedEx it to Buffalo, N.Y., to get him released.

Arrested: Gregory Morrison, 53, 60 Sunset Lake Road, Richmond, operating a vehicle under the influence, Monday.
