Catholic Central defeats Buckeye, Edison

EAST SPRINGFIELD — The Catholic Central golf team won a tri-match with Edison and Buckeye Local Thursday at Spring Hills golf course.

Central’s score of 175 bested the Panthers’ 182 and Wildcats’ 203.

Johnny O’Karma shot a 42 to lead the way for the Crusaders. Luca Connor shot a 43, while Zach Campbell and Cole Tegano both shot 45s.

Edison was led by a 45 from Andrew Pugh.

George Ash shot a 46, Sadie Allen a 57, Jared Smith finished with a 59 and Kennadie McElroy shot a 69.

Edison and Buckeye Local are both off until Monday, when they face Harrison Central in a tri-match at 2 p.m. at Cadiz Country Club.

Harrison tops Trail

CADIZ — The Harrison Central golf team picked up a win on Thursday at the Cadiz Country Club, defeating Buckeye Trail.

The Huskies team score of 348 bested Buckeye Trail’s 389.

Sam Santille led the Huskies efforts with a 79 to take medalist honors on the day.

Nick Coffland shot a 84, Jory Mavin a 87, Jacob Hudson 98, Hunter Vancuren 103 and Arik Carmen a 105.

The Huskies will return to Cadiz Country Club on Monday for a tri-match with Buckeye Local and Edison at 2 p.m.
