Barons to host Indiana University
STEUBENVILLE – Franciscan University of Steubenville’s 11th-annual Robert D’Anniballe Rugby Ruckus will be held at 7 p.m. Aug. 31 at Harding Stadium. The Barons will take on the Indiana University Crimson Hawks. The Barons have won three straight Rivers Rugby Conference championships and finished the season ranked No. 9 nationally.
It will be the first game under new head coach Chris Courtnell, who takes over the program after five years as assistant coach.
Pre-game events start at 3 p.m. with a Family Fun Fest that will feature carnival games, food booths, many free activities and a free concert by Spinning Jenny. The popular band from Mingo Junction will perform from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on a stage set up in the Harding Stadium parking lot, where the Family Fun Fest will be located.
General admission to the rugby game is $6 and $5 for students with valid ID, FUS alumni, youth 7-12 and senior citizens. Children under the age of 6 are admitted free.
