Scott, Edison shut out Barnesville; Creek wins

RICHMOND – Collin Scott pitched a complete game 4-hitter to lead Edison over Barnesville, 3-0, on Thursday.
Scott struck out five and issued just one walk and added a single at the plate.
Tanner Evans collected two hits for the Wildcats (17-3), while Nolan Marcus ripped a 2-RBI single.
Clay Woodward and Bryce Piatt also reached on singles.
Barnesville dropped to 7-13. The Wildcats host Big Red today.

MINGO JUNCTION – Indian Creek won its third game in the last four with an 11-6 victory over visiting Bellaire at the John Muth Recreational Complex.
Liam Campbell singled for a pair of RBIs to lead the Redskins, who visit St. Clairsville today.
Mike Freshwater, Dylan Whitaker, Tanner Wise, Anthony Krager and Jonathan Woodbury all singled for an RBI. Jimmy Bolyog drove in one with a double.
The Redskins scored eight times in the bottom of the third inning to aid starting pitcher Mitch Porter. He struckout three and walked two in five innings.

Harrison bops Rockets
CADIZ – Nick Staten hit a home run and drove in four runs as the Huskies tallied 12 hits in a 15-0 win over Conotton Valley on Thursday.
Ian Saho and Dustin Redish combined to pitch the one-hit shutout. Saho started and had six strikeouts, while Redish had four strikeouts in relief.
Redish also drove in a pair of runs, while Brennan Graves collected three hits with an RBI. Giovanni Rocchi added two singles.

Creek tops Huskies
CADIZ – Paige Geanangel struck out 11 and drove in a run as Indian Creek beat Harrison Central, 3-1, on Thursday.
Alexi Monroe doubled for the Redskins (12-3) and scored a run. Hannah Webb added a single.
For Huskies (10-9), Katie Ellzy struck out 10 and hit a single. Ashley Heavilin singled in Harrison’s lone run.
The Redskins added a run in the sixth on a wild pitch. Then, the third run scored on a throwing error.
Indian Creek will play at Martins Ferry today, while the Huskies travel to Edison.

Wildcats hold off Beavers
RICHMOND – Ashlee Miller belted a home run and Skylar Fanhouser pitched well to lead Edison over Beaver Local, 5-4, at Jefferson Lake State Park.
Miller also added a double and finished with three RBIs for the Wildcats (8-13). Caitlin Brenstuhl added three single and Lynsey Morrison had a pair of hits.
Fankhouser earned the win with two strikeouts and two walks.
Edison will host Harrison Central today.

RAYLAND – Buckeye Local scored twice in the bottom of the first inning and pitcher Ivy Starcher made it stand with a 2-0 victory over visiting Shadyside Thursday.
Starcher totaled 11Ks, walked one and allowed three singles.
Kierstyn Czuchran blasted a two-run bomb for the Panthers (12-6). Lauren Swiger doubled.

BELLAIRE – The Toronto softball team scored five runs in the second inning and held on for a 5-4 win over Bellaire St. John on Thursday.
Desiree Meadows earned the win on the mound, striking out three with three walks and allowing just two hits. She also added a double at the plate.
Erin Taggert, Hannah Parker and Chelsea Anderson added a single for the Red Knights.

STEUBENVILLE – The Big Red softball team scored in every inning it went to the plate and Hannah Westlake allowed just one hit in a 15-1 at home.
Westlake also struck out seven.
At the plate, the Barker sisters, Mytia and Tenia, each had three hits and two RBIs. Rhiannon Petrisko had two hits with four RBIs.
