Boxing at MTR on Saturday

CHESTER – Mountaineer Casino, Racetrack and Resort, in association with eight-time World Champion Roy Jones Jr. and TNT Promotions, presents boxing at the Harv on Saturday.

A full bill of professional boxing is on tap featuring the highly anticipated return of the ultimate toe-to-toe action warrior Monty Meza-Clay when he faces Adolfo Landeros of Mexico City in the main event. Both Meza-Clay and Landeros held the IBA world title.

In the evening’s special attraction, the comeback of former WBO world heavyweight champion Shannon Briggs continues when he faces spoiler Matt Greer.

Briggs, the last American heavyweight world champion and actor, took some time away from the sport after a loss by decision to Vitali Klitschko. Briggs is coming off two consecutive knockout victories and os eager to get Wladimir Klitschko in the ring – as he feels the Ukrainian has dodged him his entire career.

Other fights on the card include: Bill Hutchinson vs. Larry Ventus; Ed Latimore vs. Felix Abner; and Antonio Nieves vs. Adalberto Tapia.

Ticket prices are VIP Ringside starting at $100, Section A $50, Section B $35 and bleachers $25. All tickets are plus tax, a $2.50 Etix service fee and can be purchased at Mountaineer Casino’s Players Club, by calling (800) 804-0468 Ext. 8297 or online at www.MOREatMountaineer.com or www.Etix.com.

Free parking and free shuttle service between the casino and the Harv will be avilable. The first bell is at 7 p.m. and bouts are subject to change.
