Edison’s Aaron Hilt picked in Frontier League
NORMAL, Ill. – Edison High School graduate Aaron Hilt was selected No. 5 in the first round by the Normal CornBelters in the annual Frontier League draft.
The right-handed pitcher out of Ashland University is currently in his second year as a graduate assistant with the Wheeling Jesuit baseball program. He works with the pitching staff, serves as the recruiting coordinator and will receive his masters degree in organizational leadership.
A 2007 Edison grad, Hilt helped lead the Wildcats to the state semifinals.
At Ashland, he won two GLIAC Conference championships, one Midwest Regional Championship and played in the NCAA Division II World Series. He was a sports management major with minors in business and coaching.
Hilt was a second-team all-GLIAC selection while at Ashland. He was also a second-team all-Midwest Region choice, the national pitcher of the week, and a four-time GLIAC pitcher of the week.
He was a first-team all-Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League selection where he helped lead the Southern Ohio Copperheads to the championship game.
The CornBelters begin the season May 8.
They visit the Washington WildThings June 20-22.
