Blue Dons come back to beat Cadets

WEIRTON – Michael Rogers completed a really good day at the plate with a game-winning RBI single in the bottom of the seventh as Weirton Madonna earned a 3-2 come-from-behind victory over Linsly at Bowman Field.

Rogers reached base on all four plate apperances with a pair of singles and walks.

Linsly took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning.

Arien Seymour deposited the first pitch of the game by Will Bowser over the center field fence for a 1-0 lead.

Colton Coss followed with a single, but was erased on the basepaths. Jacob Murray was hit by a pitch and, one pop out later, Dillon Curtin’s double brought home Murray.

Bowser allowed three singles the rest of the way. Linsly had two baserunners after the third inning and they reached via errors. He finished with six strikeouts and one free pass.

Rogers walked with one out in the second inning. Dom Silvestri reached on a catcher’s interference and Anthony Antinone singled to load the sacks. Rogers scored on a Kaleb Baire single.

Luca Fuscardo reached on an error to begin the third. Stole second and eventually scored on a wild pitch.

Rogers started the sixth with a single and Silvestri’s walk put runners on first and second. They were left there.

Fuscardo walked on five pitches with one out in the seventh. Comis laced a single on the first pitch. One out later, Roger smacked a full-count pitch for the game-winner.

Madonna (11-4) stays atop the OVAC Class A standings and visits Conotton Valley today.

Bruins whip Mohigans

WELLSBURG – Brooke scored seven times in the bottom of the fourth inning to finish off visiting Morgantown, 10-0, Tuesday.

The Bruins (11-4) welcome Wheeling Park today.

Mario Lombardi tossed a one-hitter and Kelean Welch led the nine-hit attack with a pair of doubles and three RBIs.

Russell Schwertfeger tripled for two RBIs.

Chad Harper and Nick Ossman singled for a pair of RBIs. Ethan Sole doubles for an RBI and Aaron Walker singled twice.

Red Knights win big

TORONTO – Playing in his first game of the season, Jarin McIntosh went 4-for-4 at the plate with a home run, double, two singles and four RBIs as Toronto smacked Conotton Valley, 16-1, Tuesday at the Knight Baseball Complex.

The Red Knights (8-7) received two-RBI performances from Nate Stewart, Tyler Antinone and Blaze Glenn. Will Newbold, Riley Keirsey and Chez Glenn added RBI singles.

Logan Allen allowed one hit in five innings.

CADIZ – Harrison Central scored 10 runs in the bottom of the first inning and cruised to a 14-0 victory over Beaver Local Tuesday at Sally Buffalo Park.

Ian Saho threw a one-hitter and collected three singles.

Nick Staten delivered three singles and two RBIs. Dustin Redish had a triple and two RBIs, Zach Arbogast two singles and two RBIs and Brennan Graves a single and two RBIs.

Bears down Jets

MORRISTOWN – Oak Glen started fast with three runs in the first and second innings and never stopped in a 16-5, six-inning victory over host Union Local on Tuesday.

The Golden Bears (7-9) entertain Toronto today.

Alex Shuman picked up the win. He added a triple and RBI.

Kyle Woodruff and Bub Haddox each drove in four runs – Woodruff on four singles and Haddox on a single, double and triple. Justin Bailey contributed three singles and two RBIs and Michael Campbell two singles and an RBI.
